Poster wins Rhino Conservation Award
We are extremely proud of our very own Poster (Mpho) Malongwa who won the 2014 Rhino Conservation Award for Best Field Ranger. Poster is the Rhino Monitoring Officer for the company’s successful Botswana Rhino Reintroduction Project. This award recognises his tireless efforts in monitoring the wild rhino of northern Botswana over the past 15 years.

Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp is open!
On 1 August 2014, Wilderness Safaris opened the very much-anticipated Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp. After a lot of hard work from the team on the ground, the first month of operation has been fantastic. As a region of broad diversity, guests have been thrilled at the promise of something new every day, and of course they have revelled in the luxury of the new camp. Birgit Bekker describes her four-day sojourn in this special place.

Shumba Camp is off to a flying start!
Another camp also opened its doors on 1 August, this time one of our firm favourites – Shumba Camp! The Busanga lions seem to be just as excited about the stunning new and improved main area as we are – as their frequent presence attests. The date also signalled the start of hot air ballooning, complementary for guests staying three nights or more, and an incredibly popular scenic excursion. These stunning photos prove just that!
